Fishing and Boat Charters

Ruthless Roatan Charters is THE best choice on the island - sunset tours, fishing trips, North Shore Tour, and the very popular day trip to the stunning islands of Cayos Cochinos.

www.ruthlessroatancharters.com

We do not recommend just choosing a boat charter off the beach - for your personal safety and the quality of the experience.  We also have other deep sea fishing contacts and a fantastic flat or permit fishing contact.  Let us know what your group is interested in, and we can help set it up.

Sundowner's Fishing and Island Excursions - Home | Facebook

Fantastic boat and owner - great for exploring the islands or serious fishing.  Aaron will take great care of you.

Snorkeling

Roatan's snorkeling is a world-class experience offering easy snorkeling close to shore with incredible visibility and warm conditions year-round.  West End, home to some of the best snorkeling in Roatan, boasts beautiful Half Moon Bay, an ideal location to snorkel as well as enjoy a sunset cocktail and watch kids swinging off the sailboat into the sea.  Along both sides of the bay are swim zones that you can follow to check out the sites along the iron shore.  There are regular sightings of rays, sea turtles, eels, lobsters, crabs, barracuda and more.  From Vivaro Beachfront, snorkel from your own private dock to the reef and home to some of the island's best dive sites and fantastic snorkeling.

Scuba Diving

Roatan is THE place to scuba dive, whether you are a novice diver or an advanced explorer.  If you have never dove but it sounds interesting, consider a “discover scuba diving” experience!!!  It is just a half day, and you will not be disappointed!!!  We dive with Reef Gliders or Roatan Divers on Half Moon Bay - great people, fast boats, new gear and a great locations.  Check out their site and email them to reserve your spot!!!    https://roatandivers.com/

Paddle Boarding/Kayaks

Vivaro Beachfront has five paddle boards to explore Mangrove Bight.  If you are staying at the North or South House, there are many local places around Half Moon Bay to rent them at great rates.

Submarine Ride

For a truly once in a lifetime experience, take a deep sea adventure in "Idabel."  Built and piloted by Karl Stanley, “Idabel” is the world's deepest tourist submarine and takes up to two passengers to over 2000ft below the surface where you might be the first person to ever see something.  Visit Stanley Submarines for more information.

Land Activities

Spa and Massages - Spa Baan Suerte

Mariela at Spa Baan Suerte is amazing.  She can set up massage at the house or she arrange transportation to their beautiful tropical location with a pool, hot tub and unique treatment areas.   (This is what I choose with my friends and family - massages, body scrubs, facials and more available).  Matt can help put you in touch - or check out their Instagram.

Golf

The Black Pearl, located at the Pristine Bay Resort and created by award-winning golf course architect Pete Dye, offers truly spectacular views and amenities.  There is also a new 9-hole par-3 course located in West Bay also designed by Pete Dye.

Island Tour or Road Trip

Book our trusted driver for the day and head out to the less developed East End of Roatan.  Explore isolated beaches, small fishing villages, local seafood meals, and restaurants and bars only accessible by water.

Animal Encounters

Stop at Daniel Johnson's Sloth and Monkey Rescue (https://monkeyandslothhangout.com/home/) on the way to the east end for lunch at Kristi's Overlook or Hole in the Wall.

Visit the Iguana Farm near French Harbor and Daniel Johnson's, a sanctuary for these endangered island reptiles. Don’t miss feeding time!

East End Mangrove Tour, The Reef House and Hole in the Wall Restaurants

After your drive east, jump on a panga and boat through beautiful mangroves tunnels carved by pirates.  Mangroves are a vitally important ecosystem for the island.  You will pass by some of the oldest settlements in the Americas, built on stilts over the water and you can swim or snorkel in the turquoise clear water.  Enjoy a unique experience at Reef House and at Hole in the Wall, local hangouts that are only accessible via boat.

Canopy Tours

There are number of zip-lines through the jungle canopy on Roatan.  We prefer South Shore Canopy Tours, just up the road to West Bay, and can help arrange a tour at time that avoids cruise shippers.

Horseback Riding

There are a few options near West End.  Ride along the beaches and through the forests of Roatan. Prices are reasonable and the horses are well cared-for.  Ask us for details if you are interested in this adventure.
